This is an incredible view that God provided as we flew into Guatemala City.
May 2009 Missions Trip to San Pedro Las Huertas

In early May 2009, the ICI Medical Ministry team and the Plant Today Missions team traveled to San Pedro Las Huertas to help the underserved people of San Pedro Las Huertas.  Below is an account of this missions and community service trip.
The ICI Medical Ministry team saw 570 people throughout the week. The team treated various illnesses and skin disorders from the impure water.   During the week, 41 people accepted Christ into their life.  Everyone who came was given some information about Christ which also had information about the San Pedro church.
The Community Development Committee saw a need to improve safety for the children and families by repairing and adding speed bumps on the main road through the town.

The Plant Today team arrived and brought more than 500 pounds of clothing, Sunday School supplies, and equipment for the Fire Department.  All will be distributed to the church and local community.
On Thursday and Friday the mission team traveled from their hotel in Antigua to San Pedro to work on community service projects.
Some team members prepared the street for the speed bumps.  It took more than half the day to prepare three areas for the new concrete/rock surface bumps.
Prior to this visit, Pastor Israel had been asked to be part of the Community Development Committee.  As a result, he has been able to meet with people on other committees and bring a sense of unity to the community.
Many people came to thank us for the work we were doing and for coming to their country to help.
Other team members served the community with an Eyeglass Clinic.  They had many stories of smiles on the faces of the people after they received their glasses.  They could see their world so clearly, many for the first time.
